BOOK YOUR TOUR
F A Q S
Do I need to book my tour in advance?
It's always best to book tours in advance to lock in your preferred date, but we are a small family run company so we can usually find a way to you accommodate you, even if you email us at the last minute at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Is there a lot of walking on your tours?
We will be driving between locations on all tours and most will require a minimum amount of walking.
Please let us know if you have mobility issues and we will steer you to the tour that has the least
amount of walking involved.
How should I dress?
Be sure to bring sturdy walking shoes, plus a warm, wind and rain proof jacket, even in summer.
The weather in Iceland is very unpredictable so be prepared for anything and everything!
What distances are covered on the tours?
Depending on which tour you choose, you can expect to cover about 150 to 250 kilometers round trip, visiting 3 to 5 food locations with a sample set menu that is spread out across the tour itinerary.
I've heard about some weird Icelandic food, like fermented shark.
Are we going to eat any of that sort of food?
You can breathe a big sigh of relief because we won't be having any extremely weird Icelandic foods on these tours. However, if this is something you would specifically like to try please contact us ahead of time for special arrangements.
What is included in the price?
Each private guided tour includes meals, snacks, beverages (except alcohol on most tours), entrance fees and transportation costs and are included in the tour price. Tour participants will receive a bottle of Icelandic water at the start of the tour and there will be opportunities to purchase local or imported wines and spirits at several venues on the tour. At the end of the tour, each participant will receive an edible food/foodie gift as a thank you.
Are the tours suitable for vegetarians or vegans?
All tours contain meat, fish, or dairy products which are a big part of the traditional Icelandic diet. Therefore, we do not recommend our tours to those who follow strict vegetarian or vegan diets. Sorry about that!
Are there age restrictions?
Children are welcome, but please bear in mind that the tours can take up to 12 hours and may not be suitable for small children with limited attention spans. Suggested age limit is 10 and up. Feel free to contact us and we can see how we can best accommodate children.
What if I have food allergies?
Please make sure you inform us of any food intolerances or allergies. We can now offer gluten free options on all tours should you require this. If you are on a ketogenic diet (low carb, high fat) please get in touch and we'll see what we can do!
